VentoDial Privacy Policy

Operator: Hangzhou Lingpeng Technology Co., Ltd.. Privacy contact: hzleadpeng@gmail.com. This policy takes effect on the public release date of VentoDial.

1. Scope

This policy applies to the VentoDial apps for Android, iOS, and HarmonyOS. The current app has no account registration, advertising, or payment features.

2. Information used by each feature

• Current location. When you request your current location and grant permission, the app gets the location provided by your device while in use to select a forecast location and show a nearby place name. You can deny or revoke permission and still search for a city manually. Device heading is used to draw the compass on your device and is excluded from weather requests.

• Weather, alerts, and widgets. The app sends the selected place’s coordinates and requested time range to the configured weather service for forecasts and historical conditions. When wind alerts or a widget are enabled and the operating system allows background execution, the app may fetch weather for a saved place or refresh its cache without obtaining a new device location in the background. Alerts are displayed locally by the operating system.

• City search and place names. The app sends city search terms and applicable language information to the configured search provider. Some devices use a system geocoding service to look up a nearby place name. If the configured provider supports reverse geocoding, the app may send coordinates and language to that provider for the lookup. Location, search terms, and selected places are used for the corresponding features.

• Wind map. When you open the map, the embedded Windy page receives the map’s center coordinates and display parameters. Weather, search, and map providers may receive IP addresses and standard request information as part of the network connection.

3. Service providers and transfers

The current app configuration uses Open-Meteo for weather and city search and embeds Windy maps. If a release configuration or a configuration you select enables a different search provider, queries go to that provider. If remote service configuration is enabled, the app requests the configuration from the configured URL. The providers’ published policies describe their processing and retention. Requests may be handled outside your region. Where a cross-border transfer of personal information is subject to legal requirements, we will provide the required notice, obtain consent where required, and meet other applicable obligations.

4. Device storage and your controls

Your selected place, saved places, preferences, recent weather cache, and alert records are stored on your device. On platforms that support widgets, the app and widget share the required place and weather snapshot. The app uses this information to restore preferences, display weather, and avoid repeat alerts. You can remove saved places in the app, revoke location or notification permissions in system settings, or remove a widget. To clear local app data, use your system’s app data controls or uninstall the app. Revoking permissions does not automatically erase saved places or retract requests already sent.

5. Your rights and how to contact us

Subject to applicable law, you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of relevant personal information, or ask how it is handled. To exercise these rights, email hzleadpeng@gmail.com. We will handle your request in accordance with applicable law. A parent or guardian may use the same channel for questions involving minors. Material policy changes will be communicated in the app or on the policy page.
